Interview: 13 Minutes’ Anne Heche

by Charles Trapunski

We’re thrilled to spend any length of time with the uniquely talented Anne Heche, but on a recent press junket for the Oklahoma-shot, Canadian-backed feature 13 Minutes, Heche regaled us for a shade under 13 minutes with tales from the set. In addition, Heche discussed playing a character not in any way like herself and how the context of the movie brought her to director Lindsay Gossling. She also spoke about acting opposite country star Trace Adkins (and Will Peltz), and about which show has captured her (and most of the world’s) attention lately. Heche mentioned her podcast, Better Together, threw back to her movie My Friend Dahmer, and, as a bonus, her Zoom room featured some of the most eye-catching lamps and decor that we have come across to date. Anne Heche is, above all, kind and proud of the film 13 Minutes, which is about the effects of a powerful storm on a tight-knit Southern town.
