We were sincerely excited to speak with Dear Evan Hansen (and Atypical‘s) Nik Dodani and the multi-talented star (Dodani is also a comedian, screenwriter and activist) certainly did not disappoint. One of the highlights of the Stephen Chbosky directed Dear Evan Hansen movie, we watched Dodani as ‘family friend’ of the Hansens during the opening night gala at the recent Toronto International Film Festival. We later sat down exclusively with the charming Dodani on Zoom video and he shared remarkable details with us about the mostly Atlanta-shot film adaptation of the beloved musical, including specifically how he punked the young cast, as well as what it was like for Dodani to have a brief scene opposite the iconic Julianne Moore.
