While Ted Lasso and Abbott Elementary have been proclaimed TV’s comfort food for adults, Jack McBrayer’s Hello Jack! The Kindness Show on Apple TV+ is the equivalent for children (although parents will enjoy it just as much). A mix of Mr. Rogers Neighborhood and Sesame Street but with a timeless feel, the series follows Jack (McBrayer) as he “greets everyone in his fictional enclave of Clover Grove with kindness and humour. His ability to spread compassion, creativity, and imagination inspires everyone in town to do the same.” The upcoming season two features a steady stream of McBrayer’s celebrity friends including D’Arcy Carden, Gillian Jacobs, Kumail Nanjiani and Emily V. Gordon, and Kristen Schaal, amongst many others.
During the recent junket day for the exceptional series, I spoke with Hello Jack, The Kindness Show‘s creator and executive producer, the delightful Jack McBrayer, about what’s coming up this season, which of his past collaborators he’d sing a song of appreciation for (a nod to the season finale episode of season two), and much more!
