We’ve previously shown that when it comes to Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher’s coming-of-age series Never Have I Ever, we are definitely on Team Ben Gross, having spoken to Jaren Lewison, the portrayer of the character and a potential love interest for Maitreyi Ramakrishnan‘s Devi, in a far-ranging video interview in advance of season two of the popular Netflix show. A necessity for being on the team though is that we were compelled to schedule a follow-up video interview during a whirlwind time for Lewison. Never Had I Ever had concluded production that Wednesday, filming the final episode of the show already, prior to even releasing all of season three on Netflix. But of course, we were absolutely prepared, having screened the entire season in two instalments prior to speaking with Lewison. But we hadn’t have been concerned in the slightest, as Jaren Lewison went into great detail about why this season of NHIE is the best one yet (and we certainly let him know how much we agreed with this sentiment). From the episode narrated once again by Andy Samberg, to his male bonding with Darren Barnet, who portrays his sort of opposite on the show, Paxton Hall-Yoshida, to how much he enjoyed Aneesa (Megan Suri)’s journey during an eventful season for her as well. Lewison also shared how much he enjoys the acting performance of Fabiola’s portrayer Lee Rodriguez and her plotline with Aneesa, bestowing the on-screen chemistry between the two with a Chef’s Kiss. And he saved the best for last, as this season’s final shot provides a massive cliffhanger into the concluding fourth season, which Lewison describes as somehow even topping on season three. Never Have you Ever received this detailed insight about the show.
