While Darren Barnet is one of the stars of the shot-at-home during the pandemic horror movie called Untitled Horror Movie, he certainly isn’t an unknown. The talented Barnet has stepped into his own on This is Us as a young Jack Pearson, in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and especially in Mindy Kaling’s charming Netflix series Never Have I Ever. In between filming seasons one and two of the aforementioned popular show, Barnet shot Untitled Horror Movie from home, as co-writer Luke Baines enlisted his pals, who also include Kat McNamara, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Timothy Granaderos, Claire Holt, and Baines himself, alongside Barnet. During the recent Zoom video junket day, I spoke with Darren Barnet about his favourite scenes in the subversive comedic horror movie and he teased what’s coming up for his character Paxton Hall-Yoshida on season two of Never Have I Ever.
