Interview: Transformers: Earthspark’s Alan Tudyk, Danny Pudi and Sydney Mikayla

by Leora Heilbronn

Transformers: Earthspark voice actors Alan Tudyk (“Optimus Prime”), Danny Pudi (“Bumblebee”) & Sydney Mikayla (“Robby Malto”) chatted with Brief Take on the early morning video junket about their favourite lines from the animated show (you’ve got to hear Alan as Optimus Prime!), their experiences working on the series, why fan interactions are so important to them, Sydney & Danny’s knowledge of the ‘Transformers’ franchise before signing up for the show, and much more!

Many years after the end of the war between the Autobots and Decepticons, Robby (Mikayla) and Mo Malto (Zion Broadnax) are struggling to adapt. When they find a strange object in a cave, it grants them mysterious robotic cyber-sleeves and gives life to Twitch and Thrash—the first ever Transformers to be born on Earth. Bonded to them through their cyber-sleeves, the Maltos adopt the two Terrans into their family. The Autobots reach out to the Maltos and offer the Terrans the chance to be mentored by Bumblebee. The Maltos work together to keep each other safe and find their place in the world while learning what it means to truly be a family.
